Punjab government's ambitious health project Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana will cover 1.40 lac families of Mansa district wherein treatment upto Rs 5 lacs would be given in government and private empanelled hospitals from August 20 onwards.Deputy Commissioner Mansa Mrs Apneet Riyait said while presiding over a meeting convened to ensure smooth working of the scheme in district. She said that the scheme covers around 30 various kinds of ailments for which free treatment facilities will be offered to the patients. All the beneficiaries, who were covered under the Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Yojana, have been covered under this scheme too. Beneficiaries include farmers, J form holders, traders, BPL card holders and other needy sections of society. She clarified that no services of Sarbat Sehat Yojana are available at at Sewa Kendra.Concerned beneficiaries can find their names at the lists available with common services centers (CSC) located in villages as well as government health facilities. She said that no new registrations for the schemes are being done as of now. If anyone wants to add name of a family member to the list of beneficiaries, he or she should approach CSC with requisite documents and get the same done. For this, 103 CSC in villages have been designated where people can find their names and get smart cards issued. Smart cards will be issued at a cost of Rs 30 at these centers. It is not mandatory to get smart card CSC only. People can get it from anywhere at their own free will. She added that Aarogya Mitra have been appointed in government as well as private hospitals to assist people falling under this Yojana. Anyone, who wants to get smart cards or information regarding the yojana, should approach Aarogya Mitra at the health facilities.
