Elaborate Arrangements To Be Made For Shastra March On July 27 To Mark Miri-Piri Day : Kulwant Singh

The district administration would make elaborate arrangements for the upcoming 'Shastra March' on July 27 to mark Miri-Piri Day in the city.Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh while presiding over a meeting with the representatives of various Sikh organizations, said that the district administration would ensure foolproof arrangements for the upcoming Shastra March so that people could participate in it with full religious gaiety and enthusiasm.He said that the district administration would leave no stone unturned for making this event a huge success. He asked the people to participate in the Shastra March with a full religious fervor.Mr. Singh said that Shastra March would commence from New Grain Market in the city and would culminate at Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib, GTB Nagar after passing through Workshop Chowk, Patel Chowk, Jail Chowk, Jyoti Chowk, Nakodar Chowk, Sri Guru Ravidass Chowk, Prithivi Planet and Bhai Jaita Ji Market. He said that necessary arrangements would be made for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements and other facilities during Shastra March so that participants do not face any sort of problem. 

The deputy commissioner asked the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar to ensure proper cleanliness of the route of Shastra March, sprinkle water on roads and ensure temporary urinal and mobile toilets for the pilgrims participating in this mega event.Likewise, he asked the Health Department to depute Medical teams during Shastra March along with medicines and Ambulances to facilitate the people. He also asked the PSPCL to evolve a mechanism for supplying uninterrupted power during Shastra March.  He asked every concerned officer to perform their duty diligently for smooth conduct of affairs during this Shastra March.Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included SDMs Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Sharma, Dr. Anupreet Kaur, Assistant Commissioner Ms. Shayari Malhotra, ADCP traffic Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner Mr. Deepinder Singh Garcha, ACP traffic Mr. Vaibhav Sehgal and others.
