The delegation met Bihar Ministers regarding Bihar Credit Card Scheme:

A Delegation of Federation of Self Financed Technical Institutions (FSFTI) and Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) today met Bihar Education Minister Krishnanandan Prasad Verma and Information and Public Relations Minister, Sh. Neeraj Kumar to request them to review the notice 15/M 1-57/2016/1462 dated 5th July 2019 starting to give credit card to NBA/NAAC accredited and NIRF ranked Institutions.

About the delegation:

The delegation was led by Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA and FSFTI along with other chairmen of various Colleges from the States including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat etc participated in the conference. Future of more than 10000-15000 students on stake:

Dr. Anshu Kataria President of PUCA, FSFTI and Chairman of renowned group near Chandigarh Aryans Group of Colleges apprised both ministers about the situation and said that with the new notification the future of more than 10000 to 15000 students who have already taken admission in various Colleges across the Country but haven't applied in DRCC office for their credit card due to certain reasons is in mid air now. Kataria further urged the government not to leave genuine students, who have already taken admission in higher educational institutions outside the state, in a lurch.

High fees, cut off & limited seats in NAAC grade “A” NBA accreditation or NRF Ranking Institutions:

Gurkirat Singh, Joint Secretary, PUCA said that there are very less number of Colleges and Universities across the Country who have NAAC grade “A” NBA accreditation or NRF Ranking. And these institutions have limited seats so is not possible for them to accommodate all the students. Even many of the students may not be able to meet the eligibility criteria of these top NAAC grade “A” NBA accreditation or NRF Ranked institutions or may not be able to afford their high fees structure.

Future of Bihar students would not be put in trouble-Ministers:

Both Ministers while giving patient hearing to the problems said that the Bihar Govt is concerned about the future of its students and would not let any genuine student face problem but on other hand if any Institution or consultant found guilty violating the scheme would be treated strictly.

About the Scheme:

It is to be mentioned that the scheme was rolled out on October 2, 2016 to assist financially weak students & encouraged them to go for higher education on the back of the ambitious student credit card scheme. Now, the Govt has backed out from its scheme by setting a certain different set of conditions.
