Manju Diler, Member of National commission for Safai Karamchari today said that the commission is working with a mission to ensure the upliftment of Safai Karamchari across the country and it would not allow any kind of exploitation of them.Today in the meeting to review to implementation of welfare schemes for Safai Karamcharis and their families with the ADC Kulwant Singh , who is working in the capacity of Deputy Commissioner now, Commissioner Municipal corporation Diparva Lakra, Joint commissioner Ashika Jain and officers from various departments , Manju Diler said that the Safai Karamcharis can file the complaint directly to the commission on website , on which the action would be initiated within an hour.Hailing the role of Safai Karamcharis in the Swach Bharat mission, Commission member said that "we all must respect them as they ensure the clean atmosphere for us by putting their lives on risk".Talking to the members of the Safai Unions , she said that they come forward for their rights especially to attain education for their childrens.
She said that all the cases of dependents for jobs in the Municipal corporation must be redressed till July 20. Meanwhile Commissioner Municipal corporation informed that the house has already cleared the 34 cases out of 44.She also said that the authorities must provide the security kits to the safai karamcharis besides implementing the welfare schemes by the education, health and social welfare department.Terming the regular medical examination of Safai Karamcharis as their basic rights due to the nature of their services, She asked the municipal corporation officers to ensure their medical examination twice in a year.She also asked the authorities to shun the exploitation of workers by contractors by giving their salaries in their bank accounts.Prominent amongst present in the meeting included civil surgeon Dr. Gurinder Kaur chawla, DEO Harinderpal singh, members of various safai karamchari unions and officers of other departments.
