Governor Acharya Devvrat along with Padam Shri Subhash Palekar today visited Tabhog village of Pahal Panchayat under Sunni Tehsil of Shimla District to attend the natural farming programme organized by Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) under Subhash Palekar natural farming.Around 80 farmers of various parts of the state attended this programme besides the farmers from Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.The Governor inspected the fields of farmer Suresh Thakur who is engaged in vegetable production through natural farming.Speaking on the occasion, the Governor expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmla Sitharaman for taking a decision in the budget 2019-20 today for implementing zero budget natural farming in the country. He said that Himachal Pradesh has done a lot of work in natural farming and is going to make a history in this direction.Acharya Devvrat detailed the benefits of natural farming and urged the farmers to adopt this system of farming. He also appreciated the efforts of Suresh Thakur for promoting natural farming.Padam Shri Subhash Palekar said that he is happy to see that the farmers of the remote areas are also following the model of natural farming. He appreciated efforts of the state government for promoting natural farming in a real sense and requested for providing 100 percent subsidy for fencing of the fields.The farmers of the Tabhog village took a collective decision on this occasion that the entire village would adopt only natural farming in the future.
