In a major step aimed at giving a facelift to the government schools, the District Welfare Society led by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for setting up smart classrooms in 45 schools of the district.The smart classrooms will be equipped with projectors, speakers, e-content, and others to impart quality education to the students of 45 schools mostly in the rural areas. The special focus will be on giving digital education, increasing the learning achievements of students, interactive teaching and learning and focused engagement of students in the classrooms.Presiding over a meeting with officials in the district administrative complex, Mr. Sharma said that Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is committed to uplift the standard of education in the state by setting up smart schools in the state by providing quality education to the students of government schools.Mr. Sharma said that technological integration in education would inspire positive changes in teaching methods on an international level adding that through audio-visual presentations, students would understand exactly how the knowledge was applied in practice.He said that the step was aimed at streamlining the education system by delivering quality education.Mr. Sharma also added that smart class education would be imparted to the students in a practical manner along with creative activities.The deputy commissioner also said that this initiative would also help to enhance student attendance in the schools and students, who would study in these smart classes, would be able to clear any competitive exam like others. On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Mr. Jasbir Singh, District Education Officer (Secondary) Mr. Harinder Pal Singh and others were present.
