On the occasion of “Van Maha Utsave” , Davinder Pal Singh Kharbanda D.C Kapurthala encouraged the villagers to plant more trees for making balanced and healthy ecosystem. He said that, merely planting a tree is not enough but most important is nurturing of planted saplings. Science City provided saplings, it would be responsibility of every family of this village to look after at least two plants. He boosted the morale of youth to be skill full and further, motivated the unemployed youth to develop technical skills by taking admission in free of cost skill development courses running at science city. He said that PGSC has started short term courses under skill development mission Punjab specially for rural youth. The district level Van Maha Utsave function was jointly organized in village wadala kalan by Science City and district administration kapurthlala. During interaction with youth he said that, if any youth intended to do any specific work and desired to get help in achieving his ambition, could directly approached him.
Govt. would provide financial support through loan facility which is up to 33 percent subsidy to deserving aspirants under Prime Minister Rojgar Gurantee Yozna.Dr. Rajesh Grover, Director Science City, Said that, PGSC has adopted Village Wadala Kalan for creating eco-friendly environment. He said that to mark the 550 birth anniversary of Sh. Guru Nanak Dev ji under the Tandrust Mission Punjab Govt. would provide 550 plants to every village of Punjab. Keeping this in view, 700 sapling will be planted in the village by science city in order to ensure greenery and pollution free air all around . Green, clean and pollution free Punjab is a need of this hour.On this occasion additional Deputy Commission, Sh. Avatar Singh Bhullar urged farmers to conserve the green environment and take it as a fundamental responsibility. Therefore, we should take pledge to grow a plant on happy and sad movements of life.Sarpanch of village Mrs. Tarnjit Kaur, give assurance of the D.C for making this mission successfully. She also requested to the Deputy Commissioner to start such programme like sewing and stitching to empower the women to become self reliant.
