Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar while inaugurating the two-long workshop for the departmental officers here today said that the state government is committed for all-round and speedy development of the rural area. He said that various developmental works are being carried out at sub division and district level including MNREGA to achieve this target.The Minister said that special emphasis has been laid on socio-economic uplift of the BPL families so that they could get ample opportunities for employment and self employment. However the government is making efforts that besides providing them best possible assistance and facilities, they come out of BPL list in the near future.Virender Kanwar held detailed discussion on various schemes like rain water harvesting, MNREGA, National Livelihood Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana during the meeting.Director, Rural Development Rakesh Kanwar said that effective implementation various schemes is must for providing employment to the beneficiaries for which the government is providing appropriate training when ever required. He also stressed on maintaining quality in the works under rural livelihood mission.Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Dr. R.N. Batta and other senior officers of the department attended the meeting.
