Charanjit Singh Channi, Minister for Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab, made strict instructions to all departments to resolve public grievances on priority basis. Mr. Channi  was presiding over a meeting of the District Grievances Redressal Committee here today.Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi said that government is equal for every citizen and problems of the public should be resolved without any discrimination. He said that corruption in government offices will not be tolerated. Regarding the issue raised by member of Grievances Redressal Committee , about harassing  of farmers in the case of  transformer stealing , Cabinet Minister issued order to write the concerned department to suspend the SDO and JE of PSPCL. Besides this, after getting complaint against a doctor of Malout, Minister issued the order to concerned department for transfer of doctor.Cabinet Minister said that benefit of government schemes should be given to people in a transparent manner, otherwise government will take strict action against such employees. Mr. Channi also made it clear that strict departmental action will be taken against officers, who will absent  from such meetings in future.On the complaints of various members, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi said that action should be taken to provide supply of drinking water thrice a day in Malout. He also informed that a machine of Rs 9 lakhs for the cleaning of sewerage is also being provided in Malout. 

He also informed about the construction of Harike Kalan-Sarai Naga Road with 530 lakhs. Similarly, Cabinet Minister said that grant of 10 lakhs would be provided from discredited fund of the Deputy Speaker Mr. Ajaib Singh Bhatti  for the graveyard for the Christian community at Malout. On the issue of Railway Bridge, Cabinet Minister instructs the concerned department to immediately start the work and said that this project will not be delayed. On the proposal of Tibbi Sahib road park, Cabinet Minister asked the district administration to take necessary action and coordinate with concerned departments.To resolve the drinking water problem in the city, the government will renew the waterworks under AMRUT scheme. In this regard, Mr. Channi said that water pipelines will be provided from Sirhind Feeder canal for smooth supply of canal water upto water works. He said that he would also meet the concerned minister to speed up the project soon.In the meeting, Dr. Richa, Deputy Commissioner ( additional charge), SSP  Manjit Singh Dhesi, Former MLA Karan kaur Brar, ADC (D) H. S. Saran, Congress District President Mr. Harcharan Singh Brar, Mr. Amanpreet Singh Bhatti, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Mr. Simranjeet Singh Bheena Brar, Mr. Bhinder Sharma, Mr. Jaspal Singh, Mr. Rajesh Pathela, Mr. Binder Goneana and member of Grievances Redressal Committee and officials of different departments were present.

53 crore rupees spent under MGNREGA

Cabinet Minister said that MGNREGA  should be implemented in an effective manner so that the maximum rural people get employment.  In this regard ADC (D) H. S. Saran said that last year in district, 102 percent work of target, has been done under scheme and 53 crore rupees has spent.

Massive campaign against drug menace

During the meeting, Cabinet Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi said that drug menace is a big challenge for our society. So society and government will have to work together against drugs. Regarding this issue, SSP Manjit Singh Dhesi said that he has issued his watsapp number 8054200166, where anybody can make complaint against drugs.
