In the present era of communication, the media has become integral part of our day-to-day activities which has increased the responsibility of the media manifold. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur after unveiling the special coffee table book “Himachal High Flyers” brought out by the Dainik Jagran Prakashan Ltd., here today.The Chief Minister said that publishing a coffee table book by the Dainik Jagran is indeed a commendable endeavour by the Group. He said that the Dainik Jagran is not just a newspaper but also an institution which has always come forward for social causes. He said that Dainik Jagran has created a special place in the hearts of the readers, and this is the reason why it is one of the leading newspapers in the country.Jai Ram Thakur said that it is heartening to know that Dainik Jagran has recognised the services of the people who have made a mark in different fields by overcoming all the hurdles and hardships. This book would continue to inspire the people to work with greater dedication and commitment so that they could also become lighthouse for the others.

Chief Minister said that media is rightly called as the fourth pillar of democracy, as it acts as the watchdog of the society besides providing proper feedback to the authorities. He said that in the present era of cut-throat competition, the media has to keep its integrity intact and it is appreciable that Dainik Jagran has kept high standards in the field of journalism.He felicitated the High Flyers on the occasion by presenting them memento and the coffee table book.Chief General Manager of the Jagran Prakashan Ltd. Mohinder Kumar welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. Editor, Dainik Jagran, Himachal Pradesh Navneet Sharma said that the book would prove a source of inspiration to the people of the State. He said that the entrepreneur's getting them included in the coffee table book were success stories of the achievers of the State.The content writer of the coffee table book, Sangmista Sharma said that the book peeps into the life of the path-breaking entrepreneurs of Himachal Pradesh.Speaker, HP Vidhan Sabha Dr. Rajiv Bindal, Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar, Director General of Police S.R. Mardi, Vice Chairman, State Planning Board Ramesh Dhawala, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Shrikant Baldi, Principal Secretary Onkar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, HP University Dr. Sikander Kumar, OSD to the Chief Minister Mahender Dharmani, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap were also present on the occasion among others.
