The State Government is committed towards balanced and all-round development of the State and special thrust will be given on development of those areas which have remained neglected so far. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a delegation from Tikkar area of Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai Assembly constituency that called on him at his official residence 'Oak Over' here today to thank him for upgrading Tikkar Sub Tehsil to Tehsil.The Chief Minister thanked the people of the State for ensuring unprecedented and landslide victory of the BJP candidates in all the four Parliamentary constituencies of the State. He said that the vote share of BJP was 69 percent which was highest in the country. The BJP candidate from Kangra Parliamentary constituency Kishan Kapoor got 72 percent votes which was highest in the country. He said that it was unfortunate that instead of accepting the mandate with humbleness, the Congress leaders were finding fault in the electronic voting machines (EVMs). 

He said that the surprise fact was that when the Congress won the Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhatisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, the EVMs were in order.Jai Ram Thakur said that the government would safeguard the interests of the apple growers and all possible help would be given to the farmers to get remunerative prices of their produce. He said that although Tikkar Tehsil would cover only eight panchayats, but keeping in view the difficult topographical conditions and harsh climate, the decision was taken to grant it Tehsil status to facilitate people of the area.He said that efforts would also be made to strengthen road network in the area besides developing it from tourism point of view. The work on ITI building would be expedited and Mukhya Mantri Lok Bhawan would also be constructed in Tikkar area.Chief Whip of BJP and MLA Narender Bragta thanked the Chief Minister for giving special attention on development of Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai constituency.Mayor, Municipal Corporation Shimla Kusum Sadrate, Vice Chairman, Civil Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar and other prominent leaders of the area were present on the occasion.
