The move is to ensure that the industrialists interested in establishing their units and carry out business activities receive services in a transparent and timebound manner.”Disclosing this, the Industries & Commerce Minister, Punjab, Mr. Sunder Sham Arora said that the State Government has notified the CIS under which the Labour Department, Punjab Pollution Control Board and Boiler would inspect the industrial units in a coordinated manner. The minister also said that the Labour Department and the Punjab Pollution Control Board would conduct the inspection in a single day, the information of which would be conveyed to the concerned unit in advance. The inspection report has to be uploaded on the online portal mandatorily within 48 hours. Going further, the minister said that the inspection would be limited to the check list displayed on the online portal. It would also be mandatory to obtain approval in advance from the concerned departmental head for conducting surprise check. A portal www.pbinspections.gov.in has been set up by the CIS. The minister also divulged that the Labour Department has been made the Nodal Agency for the effective implementation of the CIS. The process of implementation has been started throughout the state.

The minister also added that in order to facilitate and bolster the ease of doing business in Punjab, the State Government is already according approval to the industrialists through a hassle free single window system whereas now a new beginning has been made in the form of CIS.

Mr. Arora added that the State Government had implemented single window system last year and started the ‘Invest Punjab Business First Portal’ which is proving to be instrumental in providing regulatory services of various kinds as well as the financial incentives to those interested in doing business in Punjab. He also disclosed that as per the Industrial & Business Development Policy-2017, the regulatory clearances of the 12 departments and the 34 financial incentive schemes are available under the portal.
