As soon as the CBSE 12th result was out, students initiated their college hunt. Chandigarh has indeed become the first preference of North Indian students because of the quality  education and amplifying job opportunities. Kanwalpreet Kaur, a resident of Fatehbad, Haryana was on her college hunt in the city beautiful along with her brother. She has  scored 94% in her 12th Grade and wants to pursue Computer Science Engineering and become a master in cloud computing. “There is a dearth of practical knowledge in  schools and I wish that my further education will be pragmatic and coherent” said Kanwalpreet who has scored 92 (Physics), 94 (English), 89 (Maths), 94 (Chemistry) and 100  (Music) in the recently release CBSE 12th Class result. “Due to the unavailability of technical subjects, I had to choose music vocal as my optional subject.  Most of my friends did  the same as this has become a norm in various schools.

Students find it convenient to score a better grade in such subjects even if it doesn’t interest them. I have attained full score in my Music optional by gaining 70 in practical and 30  in theory but I am not satisfied with my result. I am sure I would have gained a similar score if I had an option to choose other technology based subjects. I think that there must be  a provision where we get choices amongst interest-based subjects like Computers, Mechanics, and Electronics as optional subjects. This can surely help us in our careers ahead  said Kanwalpreet while filling her admission form at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran. The trend of online coaching classes as well as offline tuition institutes doesn’t seem  logical to me. I think self-study has no alternative. The online platforms offering distant classes are just an illusion, she added. The power of word-of-mouth is still holding a strong  ground and after gaining positive reviews from people, Kanwalpreet has landed at CGC Landran for getting admission into B.Tech.
