Ludhiana Police Solve 8 Month Old Blind Murder Case

One Accused Arrested, Sent On 5 Day Police Remand

With the arrest of one person, the Ludhiana police has arrested an 8 month old blind murder case and the accused has been sent on five day police remand.While addressing a press conference in this regard, Jaskaranjit Singh Teja, ADCP City-2, informed that under the supervision of ACP Ludhiana South Jashandeep Singh Gill, Inspector Iqbal Singh, SHO Sahnewal Police Station, during the course of investigation of case number 309 dated September 13, 2018 registered under sections 302 and 34 of IPC at Sahnewal Police Station in which one Rakesh Kumar was murdered, had issued advertisements of photographs of the unknown accused persons and crime scene, that he had procured from the CCTV footage of Tarun Sales Corporation.The photographs and advertisement was shown to workers of different factories so that the persons who had murdered Rakesh Kumar could be arrested. During the course of investigation, factory workers identified these persons as Santosh Kumar, Vicky Maurya, Ravi Pandey and Pintu alias Aman Kumar. One of the accused namely Santosh Kumar, s/o Harbans Prasad, resident of village Badaon, PS Danapur Chandoli, Uttar Pradesh and currently residing at Kamal Kanda Gali, near Chhoti Park Giaspura Ludhiana, was arrested on May 3, 2019.

During the course of investigation, Santosh Kumar confessed that he, along with his accomplices Pintu alias Aman Kumar, s/o Ram Shakal Thakur, resident of village Lakhanpur Ilmait, PS Katra, District Muzaffarpur, Bihar, currently residing at Giaspura, Vicky Maurya alias Raj Karan Maurya, s/o Ram Sukh Maurya, resident of village Puretola Gangabad, PS and District Amethi and currently residing at Parveen Da Vehra, Makkar Colony, Giaspura and Ravi Pandey s/o Rajan Prasad Pandey, resident of UP and currently residing at Kapoor Singh Da Vehra, Main Gali, opposite Chhoti Park, Giaspura, had murdered Rakesh Kumar in a bid to loot him on Sua Road near Tarun Sales Corporation.During the course of investigation, Santosh Kumar confessed that he, along with his accomplices Vicky Maurya, Ravi Pandey and Pintu, had committed around 20-22 loot incidents targeting migrant workers. The court has granted a five day remand of Santosh Kumar and the police is expecting more revelations in the coming days.
