Chief Secretary B.K. Agarwal presided over a review meeting to address the outstanding issues pertaining to the office of the Resident Commissioner, Himachal Bhawan and Himachal Sadan at New Delhi today.He directed the officers to work with sincerity and dedication and gave a patient hearing to the issues put forth. He said that every possible effort would be made to strengthen the Resident Commissioner’s office, Himachal Bhawan and Himachal Sadan at New Delhi.Principal Resident Commissioner Sanjay Kundu apprised him about necessary steps to be taken to ensure effective functioning of the RC office and ensuring better services at Himachal Bhawan and Sadan for making the stay of guests more comfortable.He requested for augmenting the fleet strength of Resident Commissioner Office and replacement of old vehicles, filling up the vacancies of drivers besides other critical vacancies for smooth functioning of the RC office.The plan for construction of new block in Himachal Sadan, renovation of Himachal Bhawan and Sadan and modernization of the RC Office were also discussed.It was decided that immediate steps should be taken to ensure availability of wi-fi in Himachal Bhawan and Himachal Sadan as the need for this facility was long felt.Deputy Resident Commissioner Vivek Mahajan, senior officers of HPPWD, HP Tourism Corporation and RC office were also present during the meeting .
