The NIA, today filed a Charge Sheet in Case no. RC-39/2018/NIA/DLI which relates to 4 Hand Grenade explosions that took place on 14th September 2018 in the premises of Police Station Maqsudan, Jalandhar.In this attack, one police personnel had received splinter injuries in his chest. Initially, a case FIR No. 163/2018 dated 15-09-2018 was registered by Punjab Police at PS Division-1, Jalandhar, Punjab. The case was subsequently taken up by NIA for investigation.The statement issued here KNO said that that during investigation, accused Fazil Bashir Pinchoo r/o Ghat Mohalla, PS Awantipora and Shahid Quyoom r/o Kanjinag, PS Awantipora were arrested on 8.11.2018. Investigation revealed that on 14th Sept 2018, above accused persons along with Rouf Ahmed Mir r/o Mirpora Mohalla, Dadasara, Tehsil Tral, PS Awantipora, Distt Pulwama and Ummer Ramzan @ Gazi r/o vill.Dadasara, PS Awantipora, Pulwama, J&K had carried out the grenade attacks at the premises of the PS Maqsudan, Jalandhar, Punjab in furtherance of conspiracy to destabilise the law and order situation in Punjab and to wage war against India.While Fazil Bashir Pinchoo and Shahid Quyoom were studying at St. Soldiers Institute, Jalandhar, Punjab, Rouf Ahmed Mir and Ummer Ramzan@ Gazi had travelled from Awantipora to Jalandhar on 13.09.2018 to take part in the attack on PS Maqsudan.
Investigation further revealed that Fazil Bashir Pinchoo, Shahid Quyoom, Rouf Ahmed Mir, and Ummer Ramzan @ Gazi had targeted PS Maqsudan, Jalandhar in association with Amir Nazir Mir and Rasik Ahmed Mir, both residents of village Dadsara, PS Awantipora, Pulwama under a conspiracy hatched by Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH) led by its self-styled chief Zakir Rashid Bhat @ Zakir Musa to target security installations throughout the country. All the above accused persons are cadres of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH), a Kashmir based terrorist outfit with a Pan-Islamic ideology.As a part of this conspiracy, Fazil Bashir and Shahid Quyoom had collected 4 hand grenades from an unknown cadre of AGH near Verka Plant, Jalandhar on 9 Sep, 2018. Thereafter, on 13 Sep 2018, Rauf Ahmed Mir and Ummer Ramzan@ Gazi travelled from Kashmir to Chandigarh on an Indigo Flight and thereon to Jalandhar by road.Reece of potential targets was conducted on 13th Sep itself and after selecting PS Maqsudan’s building as target, the attack was executed around 1945 hrs on 14 Sep, 2018. After the attack, all the four left for Kashmir in different batches.Three accused viz. Rouf Ahmed Mir, Ummer Ramzan and Rasik Ahmed Mir were killed during an encounter that took place between the AGH cadres and security forces on 22nd Dec 2018 at vill. Arampora, Awantipora, Pulwama, J&K.Charge-Sheet has been filed in the Special NIA Court, Mohali, Punjab against (i) Fazil Bashir Pinchoo and (ii) Sahid Quyoom u/s 120B, 121, 121A, 122, 307 of IPC, Sec.16, 18, 20, 23 of UAPA & Section 3 of Explosive Substances Act. Further investigation continues in respect of the other accused persons including AGH Chief Zakir Musa.(KNO)
