Chief Secretary B.K Agarwal held a meeting at New Delhi today with few consulting groups and UNDP to work out their partnership for management of solid waste in the state urban local bodies, cantonment boards and census towns. Principal Secretary Urban Development Prabodh Saxena, Principal Resident Commissioner HP at New Delhi Sanjay Kundu, Deputy Resident Commissioner Vivek Mahajan, Senior Environmental Engineer S.K. Shandil, Representatives of consulting groups and UNDP were present in the meeting.The Director Urban Development R.K. Gautam made a presentation about the challenges and constraints of this sector. The consulting firms were requested to submit their approach papers within two days.The Chief Secretary directed the department of Urban Development to frame up a Request for Proposal (RFP) so that the selected firm can start working at the earliest.
