Former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today asked BJP candidate Arun Jaitely to explain as why did Akali-BJP government need to take a decision on imposing property tax in Punjab in 2013 if it was imposed by him (Capt Amarinder) as he has falsely been claiming all these days.Capt Amarinder clarified that Jaitely was only referring to the bureaucratic negotiations between Punjab government and the union urban development ministry. He said, the letter he was claiming to had been signed by the Chief Minister was signed by the Chief Secretary. “Doesn’t it defy all the logic that if a law has been passed in 2006 why will it need to be passed again in 2013?” he asked.

Having a dig at Jaitley for trying to buy property wherever he goes, he asked, “if buying a house in Gujarat did not make him a Gujarati how come buying a house in Punjab make a Punjabi?”
Dow Chemicals
Capt Amarinder also released the copies of the opinion Jaitely gave to the US Company Dow Chemicals’ against the Bhopal Gas Tragedy victims. He said, Jaitely had denied that he had given any such opinion but the copies of the opinion show quite contrary to what he says. “He is proving to be a habitual liar”, Capt Amarinder remarked about Jaitely.
