Narbal-Gulmarg road mangled at multiple places, tourists and transporters suffer

Narbal-Gulmarg road also known as “Gateway of Gulmarg” is in a shambles state at multiple places and is leaving an bad impression on tourists travelling to Gulmarg.Taking to News Agency Press Trust of Kashmir, many transporters accused the authorities for taking no notice of Narbal-Gulmarg road.“This is the only way which connects rest of the valley to Gulmarg and is a way where from thousands of tourists pass daily. The road is in a shambles state at multiple places and leaves and bad impression on tourists passing through it. The road hasn't been repaired from last couple of years.” said a cab driver.Accusing authorities for ignoring plights, another driver said, “Tourists, locals are facing lots of problems due to  ‘mangled’ condition of this road. Our vehicles have suffered heavy damages. If will avoid plying on this road, tourism will suffer heavy damage. Either repair the road as soon as possible or we will completely avoid plying to Gulmarg.”“The road developed ditches, pot holes at Narbal, Kawoosa, Mazhama, Kanihama, Magam, Chicilora, Kunzer, Chandilora and Tangmarg. The road is damaged almost everywhere. For one side the officials claiming of making efforts to develop tourism in the valley, the number of tourist visit to Gulmarg will decrease by 60% till next year.” said a local driver.The drivers appealed authorities to take note of their issue and macadamize the road as soon as possible.
