Rural Police Arrest Killer Of Priest In Baba Balak Nath Temple In Kartarpur

The rural police on Thursday late night have arrested killer of priest in Kartarpur's Baba Balak Nath Mandir, from Rattangarh city in Rajasthan.The accused has been identified as Bhupinder Singh alias Vicky of Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The cops have also recovered the weapon which the accused use in stabbing the priest.Addressing a press conference, ,Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) Mr Navjot Singh Mahal, SP (Investigation) Mr Rajveer Singh, SP (Headquarters) Mr Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu said that a case was registered under section 302 of IPC on April 8  in Police Station Kartarpur on the statement of Suraj Parkash Of Mohalla Khatika, Kartarpur wherein he alleged that one Bhupinder had mercilessly murdered priest Balvir Kumar of Mohalla Khatika, Kartarpur and fled away from the spot. He said that following the crime, ten teams were dispatched to various religious places to nab Bhupinder.SSP added that during investigation, while checking the CCTV footage of Gurdwara Nanded Sahib in Maharashtra and on asking from the local persons by showing Bhupinder's photograph, it was found that he had visited there but before the police party reached to nab him, he moved to other place.  

Further,Inspector Ram Singh along with police party followed him and arrested Bhupinder on Thursday at 10:00 PM from outside a Dhaba in City Rattangarh of District Churu, Rajasthan. Mr Mahal told that in preliminary interrogation, the accused revealed he and his family members were devotees of the priest and he used to visit Baba Balak Nath Mandir, Kartarpur.  Priest Balvir was assuring him that he would get the job and would also get married soon.  He alleged that priest was kept going him false assurances. He added that on April 7 late night, he came to meet priest at Baba Balak Nath Mandir and on next morning, he quizzed priest that when he would get married, upon which the priest told him to keep faith on him but he got annoyed and mercilessly stabbed him many times with a knife and resultantly the priest succumbed.  Thereafter, he switched off his mobile phone. SSP said that the accused will be taken on police remand and a deep probe into the matter will be conducted.
