Police solves theft cases, three held, stolen property worth lacs recovered

Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested three person accused of theft and recovered stolen property in Srinagar district."A case FIR No. 16/2019 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Karan Nagar when one person Irfan Ahmad Ganie son of Abdul Qayoom Ganie resident of Yari Kalan Chadoora reported to Police Station Karan Nagar that an individual was trying to steal his Maruti-800 car at Karan Nagar," a police spokesman in a statement said.During the course of the investigation, one suspected person was taken into custody and on his disclosure, a Maruti Car bearing registration number JK13A/9192 and a bike (Royal Enfield) bearing registration number DL11SD/0998 was recovered, he said."During further course of the investigation, one more maruti car bearing registration number JK01G/2088, a motorcycle (Pulsar) bearing registration number JK01N/2673, 02 master keys and wooden scale were recovered," he said.Officers investigating the case have also recovered golden ornaments including 02 chains, 01 jumka, 07 rings and 01 pound, the spokesman said, adding that investigation of the case is in progress.In another similar incident, the spokesman said that few days before, Police Station Khanyar received a complaint from Mst. Raja Bano wife of Abdul Ahad Mir resident of Naidkadal wherein she stated that a theft had occurred at her house."On this information, a case FIR No. 09/19 under relevant sections of law was registered and the investigation was set into motion," the spokesman said."During the course of the investigation, two accused persons identified as Faisal Ahmad Sheikh son of Gh Rasool and Adil Ahmad Bhat son of Ali Mohammad resident of Naid Kadal Khanyar were taken into custody. On questioning, they revealed their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure stolen property was recovered," the spokesman added. (GNS)
