In order to sensitise and galvanise the people against the drug abuse, a bike rally “Inquilab Against Drugs” under Rang De Basanti 2019 programme in association with Punjab Police Special Task Force (STF) was flagged off from the city on Sunday. Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIF) STF Bathinda range flagged off the rally in which over 80 bikes took part.The rally, also dedicated to the martyrdom of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, was commenced from Partap road here and will culminate at National Martyrs’ Memorial at Hussainiwala village in Ferozepur.This bike rally was also supported by Drug Abuse Prevention Officer (DAPO) under their buddy programme.Bikers with placards and banners in their hands carrying slogans against drug abuse vowed to spread awareness about this menace.AIG Tejinder Singh Maur, while addressing the gathering said that this rally was organised to sensitise children and their parents about the ill effects of the drugs. “We want our upcoming generation won’t fall into the prey of this drug menace,” he said.
