District Election Officer Kishtwar, Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana Sunday reviewed the implementation of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program besides reviewing the preparedness for the General Elections 2019.The Nodal Officer SVEEP and Trainings Anoop Kumar appraised the meeting about the activities taken up by them to create awareness about electoral process and to motivate the people to actively participate in the democratic process. It was given out that several departments, agencies, NGOs, educational institutions have been involved in the campaign to motivate the people and maximise participation in the elections.DEO expressed satisfaction over the activities taken up by the SVEEP and urged the officers to further intensify the SVEEP campaign and ensure that no voter should is left out. He also asked them to focus on booth level awareness for increasing the enrolment of female and PWD voters.The meeting also discussed threadbare the details of polling stations, basic minimum facilities, infrastructure, implementation of MCC, communication plan, transport plan, training to polling personnel and other related issues.He impressed upon the participants to ensure the availability of basic facilities including water, electricity, toilet, cleanliness in the polling stations by or before 25th of this month.The DEO exhorted upon all the participants to perform their duties and responsibilities during election period with added dedication, besides were advised to work in an impartial manner with utmost professionalism to implement MCC and other guidelines in letter and spirit.The DEO also apprised them about the guidelines of Model Code of Conduct and asked them to take strict action against the defaulters.ADDC Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik, CPO Kishtwar Mohammad Iqbal, ACD Kishtwar, Anil Chandail besides concerned district officers were present during the meeting.
