Speaker of Punjab Legislative Assembly Mr Rana KP Singh and Transport, Social Security Minister and Women and Child Development, Mrs Aruna Chaudhary on Friday said that the quality education is a key to empower the women in the state so that their in-built multitasking abilities can be brought out for the society's development.Participating in a Women's Pride Conclave organized by Zee News today on International Women's Day at KMV College, they said that the women have the talent of huge multi-tasking capabilities and by giving education and equal participation in the decision making, they can become a lighthouse for the people. They stated that an educated woman leaves an indelible imprint on society and motivates others to follow her.They said that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has taken historical decision for empowering the women by enhancing the reservation of the women in the Panchayat, Panchayat Samitis, Zila Parishad and Civic Body elections.They apprised the gathering that the Punjab government is putting its best efforts for empowering the women including free education for girls and women from nursery to higher studies in all government schools and colleges, the opening of new government colleges, smart schools for the girls, skill centres and etc.They said that the state has been moving in the right direction with the more number of girls' students are getting an education.They added that the women have already proved their mettle in several fields but still they needed to be given more opportunities so that they could further excel in life.They exhorted the girls to attain skill education which will usher an era of their empowerment in real sense and asked them to play a constructive role in the society so that society can remember them for their services.Earlier, the college authorities welcomed Mr Rana KP Singh and Mrs Aruna Chaudhary by College Principal Mrs Atima Sharma. Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Congress leaders Mr Rajinder Pal Singh Rana Randhawa, Mr Gautambir Singh and others were present.
