Foundation Stone Of Construction Of New Civil Air Terminal At Adampur Laid By Union Civil Aviation Minister

The work for construction of New Civil Enclave at the Adampur airport started today as Union Civil Aviation Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu digitally laid the foundation stone of this ambitious project in august presence of Union Minister of state Vijay Sampla, Divisional Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. B Purusartha and Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma.Addressing the gathering, Union Minister of state said that this was a historic initiative by Government of India and Government of Punjab. He said that the upgraded airport would benefit the industrialists, NRIs and other sections of society in a big way. Mr. Sampla also lauded the contribution of Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar in expediting the process of construction of Adampur airport.In his address Divisional Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. B Purusartha said that it was a red letter day as foundation of this prestigious project was being laid,  which would give impetus to the overall development of the region. He said that the project would open new avenues of development and prosperity of the Doaba region in general and Jalandhar district in particular. Mr. Purusartha said that he was personally indebted to the Government of India and Government of Punjab for allocating Rs 115 crore for construction of New Civil Enclave at the Airport.The Divisional Commissioner expressed hope that soon the International flights would commence from this airport. 

He said that it was matter of great pride and satisfaction that the Civil Aviation Ministry has already decided to introduce two new flights to Mumbai and Jaipur from this airport. Mr. Purusartha envisioned that the airport would act as a catalyst for development of the region and prosperity of its people.Reiterating the firm commitment of the state Government led by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for the development of the state, the Divisional Commissioner said that the work on four laning of road from Adampur to Air port would be completed very soon. Mr. Purusartha said that the state government has already given land for this ambitious project besides ensuring state of the art infrastructure for this project in terms of road, power, water supply and others. He said that the project of four laning of the road was already under active consideration of the state government and would be completed very soon. Mr. Purusartha said that the step would ensure last mile connectivity to the Airport and would facilitate people  by saving their time, money and energy.On the occasion, Senior Advisor Civil Aviation Government of Punjab Colonel RPS Mahal, MLA Mr Pawan Kumar Teenu, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Mr Iqbal Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr Sanjiv Sharma, Director of Adampur Airport Mr Kewal Krishan, Mr Ashwani Victor, Mr Charanjeet Singh Channi, Mr Gursharan Singh and others were also present.
