More than 150 companies took part and shortlisted and recruited the unemployed youth during the sub-division level Job Fair organised at Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana and at Gulzar Group of Institutes Khanna today. At Ludhiana, 1706 unemployed youth were selected by various companies for different jobs, while at Khanna, more than 2400 youth participated.Under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojana of the Punjab government, a total of seven Sub-Division level Job Fairs were organised in district Ludhiana since February 13 onwards, through which the district administration provided employment to thousands of unemployed youth of the district.While providing information, Mr Agrawal informed that at Ludhiana, 2529 youth participated, out of which 1706 were selected for different jobs by the participating companies.Mr Agrawal informed that the first job fair was organised at Government ITI, Gill Road, here on February 13, two job fairs on February 16 at Swami Ganga Giri College, Gondwal near Raikot and at Government ITI Girls in Samrala, two Job Fairs at Government Senior Secondary School for Girls, Jagraon and at Government Senior Secondary School for Boys, Payal on February 17, while two job fairs have been organised today. He informed that apart from Ludhiana based companies, representatives from other companies of the state also participated during these job fairs.He said that the youth should get themselves registered for these upcoming job fairs through the portal, www.ghargharrozgar.punjab.gov.in.Prominent among those present on the occasion included ADC Jagraon Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta, SDM East Mr Amarjit Singh Bains, Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Mr Sagar Setia, besides several others.Mr Amarjit Singh Bains thanked Tehsildar Mr Mandeep Singh Dhillon, Naib Tehsildar Mr Harbans Singh, Deputy CEO District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises Mr Navdeep Singh, Mr Hitesh Kumar, Mrs Rajinderpal Kaur and other staff for making this job fair successful.
