Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday announced Rs 11 Lakh for upgradation of educational infrastructure and sports facilities at the Arya Anathalya Ferozepur.While interacting with around 50 orphan students of the institute, the Chief Minister directed his OSD to coordinate with the orphanage for any future needs. The students had been invited by the Chief Minister to witness the Vidhan Sabha session.Captain Amarinder Singh encouraged the institute’s students to work hard on their studies in order to contribute to the nation’s progress in the future. He also urged them to take up defence forces as career choice to serve the motherland, exhorting them to always keep the interest and honour of India above everything else.Lauding the efforts and services of the orphanage, which was established by Swami Dayanand Saraswati in 1877, the Chief Minister said it had been instrumental in preserving and nurturing many precious young lives. He hoped that the institute would continue to grow in terms of facilities and results in the future.The Chief Minister asked the children about their experience of watching the Vidhan Sabha session live. The students responded enthusiastically, requesting him for permission to visit again soon. Captain Amarinder Singh also promised to meet them at their institute whenever he visits Ferozepur.MLA Ferozepur Urban Parminder Singh Pinki, who was present on the occasion, lauded Captain Amarinder Singh for providing financial assistance to the institute, saying it would go a long way in ensuring a better future for the underprivileged kids. Pointing out that no other Chief Minister had ever done so much for the needy students, he said Captain Amarinder Singh clearly understood the plight of the kids.Media Advisor to CM Raveen Thukral, as well as MLAs Navtej Singh Cheema, Fatehjung Singh Bajwa, Dalvir Singh Goldy, Balwinder Singh Laadi were present at the interaction.
