Director General School Education addressed ‘Education Summit’ organized at LPU Campus

Director General School Education (DGSE) Parshant Kumar Goyal (IAS) reached at Lovely Professional University (LPU), today. He was at LPU campus to participate in a live talk-show ‘Education Summit’, organized at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the university by News-18 TV Channel. Talking on the present day challenges and problems in the education sector, DGSE Mr Goyal (Education) shared that each and every child in the state should be literate for country’s overall progress.On this Occasion, DGSE Goyal also honoured LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal for his contribution in the field of education with a mission of ‘Transforming Education, Transforming India’. Near 100 luminaries from diverse fields of academia and related areas had gathered for this society favouring summit to guide parents, students and even teachers. In one of the panels of the show, DPI (Elementary Schools) Mr Inderjeet Singh and Vice Chairman (Punjab School Education Board) Baldev Sachdeva also participated. Both of them shared that responsibilities of teachers have regularly increased. There is a great difference between schooling and education in consideration to how the best education is being provided, whether it is a city based hi-fi school or a village school. In the next five years, comparing private and government schools, both of these will be equal in imparting education.

Mr Parshant Kumar Goyal, IAS, is holding the post of Director General School Education (DGSE) and State Project Director (SPD) Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, Mid Day Meal, Punjab ICT Education, and EDUSAT Societies. As DGSE and SPD, he is performing his duties to coordinate with Central Government and the field officers for implementation of centrally sponsored schemes and other schemes initiated by the Government of Punjab.Prior to this, initiating the live talk-show, anchor Sharda talked about ‘Right to Education’ bill (The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, under Article 21A). This bill holds that “the State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of six to fourteen years in such manner as the State may, by law, determine. In the panel groups constituted on ‘Parenting and Career’ and ‘Education Overseas’ many parents, students, teachers, top educational advisers from the state, country and abroad participated and discussed upon important issues being faced. Sharing their individual experiences, students were guided about their innate potential and parents advised to work towards providing their wards an environment to convert their passion to their profession.
