District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today conducted a day long extensive tour of Mahu, Banihal and adjoining areas to assess and inspect the snow clearance works on roads and other spots besides restoration works on water and Power supply in snow affected areas.DDC was accompanied by CMO, Dr Saif-ud-din Khan, SDM Ramsoo, Vikar Giri, Tehsildar Khari, Ashok Charakvarti besides other district officers.Responding to issues related to Health department, the DDC asked the CMO to provide better healthcare facilities to the ailing population of the area besides ensuring availability of sufficient stock of medicines in every health centres.Enroute, various deputations from at Digdole, Panthyal, Makerkot, Hingni and Kawana called on DDC and apprised him of their problems and grievances seeking an early redressal to the same.Later the DDC conducted public outreach camps at Ramsoo and Khari and listened to the demands and issues of the public of both the villages. He also reviewed the supply and stock position of Ration and essential items.DDC directed the SDMs and Tehsildars to assess the damage caused to the people and their property in their respective areas due to heavy snowfall in the last few weeks.Meanwhile, the DDC sanctioned five transformers for Panchyats of Ramsoo and directed the BDO to prepare a DPR for construction of a Community hall at Ramsoo. He also directed Executive Engineer PDD and PWD to restore the power and water supply at Mahu and Mangat areas.DDC resolved most of the issues on the spot and directed the officers to redouble their efforts to provide better basic facilities to the people.He directed the tehsildar to identify the land for construction of toilet complex at Ramsoo and Khari.DDC assured the public that all their genuine demands would be addressed in a time bound manner.
