Senior National conference leader and former MLA Sonawari Mohammad Akbar Lone today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government in center treat all Kashmiri people as militants. While speaking to News agency Press Trust of Kashmir Lone said “By saying that Modi can break the back bone of militancy means that they treat all Kashmiri as militants, and they can do anything for that, even they kill civilians during encounters”.Lone added BJP govt don’t care about people of Kashmir which Modi proves by says about militancy."They can do that but they also kill civilians which people have seen in 2018”, he said.He further added that killing people can’t achieve anything which BJP can’t understand; they should find a solution of problem.Earlier Modi said that Bharatiya Janata Party-led government will “break the back” of militancy in Kashmir, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday, and described development of Jammu and Kashmir as “priority” for New Delhi.Modi said he assures the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and the entire country that his government would fight militancy with full might and “give a befitting response” to every militant. We will break the backbone of militancy in the state, Modi said.“These boys and girls were killed because they wanted peace and wished to live,” he said, asserting that these people became victims of militancy and that this is the “reality” of militancy here.

Modi’s remarks over militancy came amid intensified anti-militancy operations by forces in Kashmir during the past few years, especially following the 2016 summer uprising triggered by the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani. Last year, more than 250 militants were killed across Kashmir while this figure was over 220 in 2017.Modi assured that his government would follow former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s “dream” about J&K.“We will not sit back. We will keep making efforts in realising his dream. We will take every person, in all three regions of the state, along with the motto of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikaas’,” the Prime Minister said.Kashmir has witnessed a spike in violence since the killing of militant commander Burhan Wani in 2016.Kashmir-based rights group Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) said 528 people have been killed this year in armed conflicts in the disputed Himalayan territory, including 145 civilians. The report added that at least 234 rebels and 142 Indian security personnel have also been killed so far this year.JKCCS coordinator Khurram Parvez said it was the "bloodiest year since 2009" and blamed it on the "political weakness" of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), India's main ruling party."They want to show their might to cover up for their failures in the government."
