Member of Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu and Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu today inaugurated the start of construction of road connecting Daba and Giaspura areas of the city. This around 1.5 kilometre long road would be constructed with a cost of around Rs 1.5 crore and the construction would be completed in next six months time.While speaking to media persons on the occasion, Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu informed that this Daba-Giaspura Road was last constructed around 10 years ago and since then, no person paid any heed towards the worsening condition of this road. He said that this being a low lying area, problem of water accumulation during rainy season is prevalent here and that is why, now the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana has decided to construct a concrete based road instead of a bitumen road.While interacting with the area residents, Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu assured that all the roads of this area would be re-carpeted in the coming few weeks. He said that there is no shortage of funds with both the Punjab government as well as the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana when it comes to carry out development in the city. He said that in coming days, development projects worth several hundred crores would be started in the city.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Deputy Mayor Mrs Sarabjit Kaur, Mr Jarnail Singh Shimlapuri, Mr Sarabjeet Singh Dhillon, MC Zonal Commissioner Mr Jasdev Singh Sekhon, Political Secretary to MP Ludhiana Mr Gurdeep Singh, Mr Gurpreet Singh Gogi, besides several others.
