With a view to provide quick and timely relief to the victims of violence against women, a dedicated ‘Sakhi : One Stop Centre’ established within Civil Hospital, Phase 6, Mohali, was today dedicated to the public by  Mrs. Razia Sultana, Higher Education and Water Supply & Sanitation Minister, Punjab. Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Kuldeep Singh Chahal, SSP, was also accompanying the cabinet minister on this occasion. After inaugurating of the ‘Sakhi : One Stop Centre’ Mrs. Razia Sultana while speaking to the media said that Punjab Government is opening such centres in all the districts of the state. She said that this centre will provide all required services to the victims of violence against women. She said that this centre will function 24X7 .One lady Constable will be deputed at these centre. She said that in this centre, all kind of emergency medical services will be provided to the victims besides immediate police assistance at site , legal support and guidance will also be extended to the victims of violence against women. The Minister said that counseling by trained counselors will also be provided to the victims. She said that at this ‘Sakhi : One Stop Centre’ there will be facility to provide temporary shelter to the victims and their children.Amongst other who were present at this occasion included Mr. Charandev Singh Maan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Jagdeep Saigal, SDM and other senior officers of Civil and Police administration.
