NHM employees rallies in Gurez, submits memorandum with demands

Employees of National Health Mission (NHM) on Tuesday staged a protest in Gurez area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, demanding regularisation of their services.Scores of the employees while shouting anti-government slogans carried out a protest rally from Gurez hospital to Dawar market where they submitted a memorandum to the district administration regarding their demands.The protesting employees told KNO that most of employees working in the department have almost crossed the age bar but were not regularized till date. “Govt must take any action to regularize us now,” one of the protesting employees told KNO.According to the protesting employees, the government had promised them social security benefits but till date, there were no initiatives taken by the government in this regard.They said that government is violating the guidelines of Supreme Court by not paying the equal pay for equal work, adding that people with the same profession in Delhi and Haryana are being benefited fully but their counterparts in valley are not. The protesters threatened of protests if their demands are not met.(KNO)
