District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana today inaugurated the second training session of newly elected PRI members with an aim to sensitize them about their role and responsibilities towards local self-governance and grass root development planning here at Conference hall of new DC Office Complex Kishtwar.As many as 42 Sarpanches from block Mughalmaidan, Nagseni, Dachhan, Marwah participated in the 04 days training programme in Second Batch which commenced today.Pertinent to mention here that Training has already started from 15th of this month where Ist batch training was completed successfully.A total of 126 newly elected members Sarpanches from 135 panchayats of the district are being trained in three batches.DPO Kishtwar briefed the participants about the various aspects of Panchayati Raj Act, modules of 04 days training schedule and latest amendments made in J&K Panchayati Raj Act,1989 .Besides, Master Resource persons appraised the Sarpanches about various departmental and Government Schemes through Powerpoint presentation.
Addressing the participants, DDC asked the Sarpanches to remain focused of ongoing training program which will help them to run their offices smoothly.DDC further outlined the importance of Panchayati Raj Act wherein he advised all Sarpanches to carefully read the Panchayati Raj Act and accordingly as per the laid down parameters envisaged in the Act.He further remarked that the said training program will enhance their knowledge and capabilities and make them ready to discharge their legitimate duties for the inclusive and holistic development of their Panchayats.He further insisted all the Sarpanches to give wide publicity to all the centrally and state sponsored schemes like MGNREGA, PAMY, SBM, Khelo India, SOBAGAYA, AYUSHMAN Bharat, Beti Bachao Beti Parao etc. for the benefit of rural poor.Among others present during the occasion include ADDC, Imam Din, ASP Kishtwar, Parbeet Singh, ADDC Kishtwar, Imam Din, ACD Kishtwar, Anil Chandal, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, AD Employment, Anoop Kumar, CAHO Kishtwar, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen and concerned Block Development Officers.
