Kashmir received the fresh spell of snowfall starting of Friday evening. The MeT department had already predicted heavy spell of snow fall from 19 onwards in Kashmir.Air traffic and road traffic continue to be affected pertaining to snowfall on regular intervals this month.Yesterday Indian Met Department issued the warning particular to Kashmir region in view of heavy snowfall prediction.The snowfall resulted in snow avalanches in mountainous regions. According to Valley Media Service, yesterday in Khardungla Ladakh five people died when a truck was hit by a snow avalanche.MeT department has predicted more snow from today evening particularly in mountainous regions of the state.“Moderate snow in plains of Kashmir & heavy oh higher reaches of North Kashmir. Should pick up gradually by evening reaching main activity during 20-22nd. Will affect Ladakh & Jammu during these days,” Sonam Lotus wrote on his social media account.Meanwhile in the view of inclement weather traffic department has issued a traffic advisory for the state. The advisory has instructed the drivers to avoid speeding, minimize use of two wheelers. The advisory has further advised to deflate tyres to keep low pressure for maintain a good grip on slippery roads.(VMS)
