‘Startup India Punjab Yatra’ van reaches Barnala

‘Startup India Punjab Yatra’, which is being organized by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab government in collaboration with Government of India across the state to spread awareness about Startup Ecosystem and scout aspiring and grass root entrepreneurs, today reached Barnala at Aryabhatta Group of Institutions. Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr. Dharam Pal Gupta along with ADC (G) Ms. Ruhi Dugg and other administrative officials, college authorities and students received the Yatra van in the college premises.While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dharam Pal Gupta said that the ‘Startup Yatra’ would act as a platform to bring awareness about the policies and incentives of Punjab government under the startup scheme and would provide an opportunity to the youths to turn their innovative ideas into reality. He added that the interested students and wanapreneurs will be registered for attending boot camps and pitching their idea into reality.Mr. Gupta said that Punjab Infotech was organizing this yatra on behalf of the State Government, meanwhile Software Technology Park of India & Punjab Chamber of Commerce and Industries are partners for the Yatra. He added that the main objective of the Startup Yatra was to motivate the youth, create self employment, upgrading the skills of entrepreneurs and to provide them support to set up their units under professional guidance.

DC said that the Startup Yatra includes 19 Van Stops and 9 Boot camps at various educational institutions in the state. He added that besides Barnala Startup Yatra van stops would be in Rajpura, Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Bhatinda, Faridkot, Moga, Sarhali, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Phagwara, Ludhiana, Balachaur, Ropar, Tangori and Mohali.Mr. Gupta added that the acceleration program will be organized on February 5 at Mohali for ideas shortlisted in boot camps which will be followed by Finale on 06.02.2019. He informed that cash awards will be given to top 3 ideas amounting to Rs. 40,000, Rs. 30,000, Rs. 20,000 in each of the five sectors i.e. Social Sector, IT Sector + Digital Marketing and E Commerce, Health and Wellness, Agriculture and Manufacturing.Meanwhile, ADC Ms. Ruhi Dugg said that the Punjab Government has also started District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises inside district administrative complex Barnala to educate and sensitize the youth about career and employment regularly.On this occasion, GM DIC Shammi Bansal, LDM Tarlochan Singh, Rakesh Khuswaha, Institute Chairman Er RK Gupta, Principal Dr. V.K. Walia, Joint Secretary Er Inderpal Goyal, Campus Director Ajay Mittal, Treasurer Ashwani Kumar were also present.
