Canada’s Consul General in Chandigarh (Union Territory of India), Ms Mia Yen visited Lovely Professional University (LPU), today, where she held important discussions with LPU’s Senior Administrators including Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ramesh Kanwar and Director, Division of International Affairs, Mr Aman Mittal. Ms Yen was also led to the campus tour, where she acknowledged and appreciated the international benchmarks established in various measures adopted at the campus.Ms Yen had detailed talks on education, culture and related possible professional activities between the Canadian education sector and LPU of India, which can be beneficial for the students and faculty of both the countries. In fact, she visits universities to interact with students and faculty to know the possibilities for establishing mutual understanding and co-operation. She also explored areas of collaboration for mutually beneficial exchange programmes for students and faculty of both the countries. Ms Yen shared that she was happy to represent her country at LPU.Ms Yen was most recently Director General in Ottawa, responsible for Foreign Service directives which support all Canadian public servants working abroad. She also served as deputy director of the team responsible for South Asia. Abroad, she worked as legislative analyst at the Canadian embassy in Washington, D.C., and as trade commissioner in Kuala Lumpur.
