NHM employees protest for regularization enters second day

National Health Mission (NHM) employees 48 hour strike entered second day as employees pressed for their regularization demand including extension of 7th pay benefits.Police today bundled many senior NHM employees in vehicles who tried to March on residency road.The employees are protesting from yesterday under the banner of NHM employees association, the protest call is also supported by Joint Employees Coordination Committee of NHM, RNTCP and NACO.“We won't budge down unless our demands are met, government has been making false promises from years now” Latief Ahmed one of the employee told Valley Media Service.The protesting employees tried to March on residency road but the March was foiled as police swing into action and bundled many senior employees of NHM association in police vehicles.The employees said that government last year promised to form a concrete regularization policy but nothing has been done so far.The employees said that they will intensify their strike if government did not take any concrete steps.(VMS)
