Sakshi Sawhney, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Bathinda today presided over the Valedictory function of the ‘Women’s Tailor’ training programme comprising 33 BPL girls of nearby villages of Lakhi Jangle. While congratulating girls on successful completion of 30 days training programme at Gurudwara Lakhi Jangle, Ms. Sawhney motivated them to start self-employment venture immediately after this training programme.She said that SBI-RSETI, Bathinda is playing an important role to empower women at the grass root level in the district. "This institution is imparting quality training and also facilitating towards their settlement", she said adding that village Lakhi Jangle has been adopted by SBI-RSETI for the skill development of the area and villagers will be encouraged to enroll themselves for training at RSETI.S. Jasbir Singh, Director, SBI-Rseti, Bathinda said that the present batch was dedicated to the 550th Birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, which was celebrated by district administration at Gurudwara, Lakhi Jangle, where many development works have been started on this occasion. The Institution has trained 286 candidates under various training programmes so far against the Annual target of 450 in this financial year. The RSETI staff will also follow up i.e. hand holding of these BPL candidates after training, which ultimately help them to start their work.Sh. Naresh Rupana, Assistant Manager, RSETI, Bathinda, Baba Harpreet Singh Dhillion, Sewadar of Gurudwara Lakhi Jangle Sahib and Sh. Harwinder Singh, President, Bhai Ghanayia Youth Club, Lakhi Jangle were also present on this occasion.
