DDC Kupwara reviews progress of works under TAD programme

District Development Commissioner, Khalid Jahangir today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress made in different sectors identified under Transformation of Aspirational Districts (TAD) programme. The meeting was attended by ADDC, JD Planning, SEs, CMO, CEO, BMOs, BDOs and other concerned officers.On the occasion, the DDC took a thorough review of achievements registered in various performance indicators viz health and nutrition, education, basic infrastructure, agriculture and water supply, financial inclusion and skill development. The concerned heads briefed DDC about the progress registered by their respective departments.Pertinently, Kupwara was ranked among top ten districts in the latest rankings of Aspirational Districts released by think tank, NITI Aayog. Reviewing the Health sector projects, the DDC stressed for achieving 100 percent results within the shortest possible time. He directed for educating people about the services being provided by the department by launching sustained publicity campaign through installation of hoarding and screening promotional short documentaries at public places.He further stressed on community involvement through regular monitoring of Village Nutrition Health Committees (VNHC). He further directed for making all the Common Services Centres (CSCs) in the district functional for the enrollment of the beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat programme. Khalid Jahangir also reviewed the progress made in education, skill development and other vital sectors. He emphasized for the upgradation of basic infrastructure in educational and health institutions and said that the need of the hour is to utilize the services in an efficient manner. He also directed for the initiation of winter tutorials in some selected educational institutions, besides   imparting qualitative education to the students.Meanwhile, the DDC was appraised about the issues hampering development works to which he assured to   resolve the same in a time bound manner.
