Hundreds of Public Health Engineering (PHE) ITI Engineers and Casual workers from 29 divisions falling in Jammu region on Monday carried out a protest rally and marched towards Chief Engineer’s Office in Jammu.The protest rally by the PHE employees was carried out to express their resentment against what they termed as callousness attitude of the state government for not addressing their long pending demands including regularization. The protesters led by Association President, Tanveer Hussain assembled at Exhibition Ground Jammu to participate in the rally.They carried out a rally towards CE Office at 1pm and blocked the traffic movement for few minutes at Dogra Chowk to press the government over their long pending demands. According to KNO correspondent, Tanveer while addressing the media said, "We held various meetings with previous and present dispensations but they didn’t fulfill our demands but only come up with the fake assurances just to play with the future of PHE casual workers and their families for the last many years.""Every time government is giving irresponsible response to our issues and demands being faced by the workers, which will not to be tolerated in future. Now, we are going to submit our demands to state government through PHE Chief Engineer, if our issues are not be conceded during upcoming Budget session, we will stop the water supply in Jammu region,” he threatened. He further urged upon the Governor Satya Pal Malik to personally intervene into the issue keeping in view miseries of families of casual workers.(KNO)
