Divisional Commissioner Faridkot division Harjit Singh today conducted a meeting with the representatives of different political parties regarding forthcoming election 2019. He appealed all the political parties to appoint booth level agents (BLAs) so that elections can be conducted in a fair and transparent manner. The BLAs can coordinate well with government appointed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and resolve matters pertaining to voters.Harjit Singh had free-wheeling discussion with the representatives of various political parties and directed the concerned election officers to do the needful. During the meeting issues regarding new votes, deletion of votes of deceased, transferring votes of newly married girls form the places of their parents' home to in-laws' home etc were also discussed.Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Bathinda Mr Praneet, additional deputy commissioner (development)-cum-additional district election officer Mrs Sakshi Sawhney, ADC (G) Mr Sukhpreet Singh Sidhu, SDM Bathinda Mr Amarinder Singh Tiwana, SDM Rampura Mr Khushdil Singh, SDM Talwandi Sabo Mr Varinder Singh, GA Mr Babbandeep Singh Walia, election tehsildar Mr Bharat Bhushan Bansal and others were also present.Similarly,political party representatives included Mr Rajan Garg from Congress, mr Gian Chand Bansal from NCP, Mr Gurdev Sungh Bandi from CPI (M), Mr Amrit Lal Aggarwal, Baldev Singh and Gurmeet Singh from Aam Aadmi Party, Mr Yadwinder Singh from SAD, Mr Ashok Balianwali from BJP and Captain Pritpal Singh from CPI.Divisional Commissioner Mr Harjit Singh also distributed appointment letters to newly appointed 73 patwaris.Addressing the gathering he called upon the patwaris to perform their duties honestly and diligently. He added that patwari was the most important employee of revenue department on whom the entire economic structure of state stood. He said that common man too has lot of expectations from patwaris and they should try their best to fulfill these expectations.On the occasion, a memorial group photograph of all 73 newly appointed patwaris, Divisional Commissioner Mr Harjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner Mr Praneet and other senior officers of the district was clicked.
