Since the last general elections, Capt. Amrinder Singh led Congress Government has become synonymous with injustice, discrimination, intolerance and protection of criminals especially those who commit crimes against the Scheduled Castes community, said Paramjit Singh Kainth, President National Scheduled Castes Alliance. "The abysmal condition of law & order has resulted in treacherous living conditions for the minorities and added to that is the protection which this government gives to criminals has resulted in people belonging to Scheduled Castes community living in fear and misery. In the most recent incident, a SC family has resorted to leaving their village so as to escape from the suffering and threats." Said Kainth.Further he criticised the lack of interest shown by the State government to solve the crimes against the SC community. "The government it seems has a vendetta against the SC community, apart from being ignorant there are signs of autocratic rule from the CM Capt. Amrinder Singh as he is not willing to listen to the plight of the victims and carries on with his working in the royal fashion that he is so used to. SC community has been suffering gravely ever since this government came to power and there seems no end to this in the near future too." He said."In the home district of the CM who is also the President of the Jatt maha sabha there occurred an incident which has forced the victim SC family to leave its native village. In village Aatanla Tehsil Patran, a student Rajpal s/o Mewa Singh belonging to the Scheduled Castes community, living in the village was abducted from the village by the local zamindars. He was brought to their home where the poor student was beaten near death. After requests to the Police by the family of the victim, the student was found. On seeing the family of the student, the mafia zamindars grievously thrashed the family members infront of the onlooking police which did nothing to stop the criminals. Gurdeep Singh S/o Kala Singh , a relative of the victim was also thrashed and his leg was broken in the incident. Gurpreet Singh s/o Kashmir Singh was hit with an axe in head.

While the victims were helplessly thrashed by the zamindars, Police was doing nothing. The poor family mustered little courage they had remaining to register a FIR against the accused but instead of providing assistance to the victims, Police registered a fake FIR against the victim family. The accused having political clout of local politicians were able to influence the police to work for them. From the victim side FIR NO. 74/2018 was registered with Section 323, 341, 342, 506, 148, 149, 365, 32 of the IPC imposed against the accused. The Police instead with the help of another person, Mehal Singh of Haryana, registered a fake FIR with harsher sections 323, 324, 341, 506, 148, 149 and 326 against the victim. Through this fake FIR, the police has been pressuring the victim family to reach to a compromise with the accused. Even the Government Doctor who is supposed to aid the victim has been involved in helping the accused. Information regarding this case was given to Superior Police officials but under the Political pressure they were also unable to do anything to provide justice to the victims. MLA Nirmal Singh, a close confidant of former External Affairs Minister Parneet Kaur is believed to be helping the accused openly and it is his pressure that the police aren't doing their jobs." Told Kainth.Further Kainth blamed the inefficient Department of Home Affairs also headed by Capt. Amrinder Singh as being anti-scheduled castes. "The recent cases of discrimination and injustice have further wounded the sentiments of the community. "Home department has been completely ignorant to the plight of the SC community and it seems Capt. Amrinder has a vendetta to against the Scheduled Castes community." He said.Kainth urged Capt. Amrinder Singh to take action regarding this case within the next 10 days. He said "Either this State government will help the victims get justice or else NSCA will protest against the CM infront of his residence and woild even sit on fast along with the victims until justice is secured."He blamed the opposition parties like Aam Aadmi Party and Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP of being ignorant bystanders in this incident. "The SC leadership in these parties needs to get a reality check. SC community is suffering and there is no one who is ready to fight for them. Everyone comes for votes but no one is ready to stand for the weak against the powerful. The opposition leaders should resign from active politics and go on a retirement vacation. They pretend to be deaf and blind to the cries of the Scheduled Castes community." Said Kainth
