The National Lok Adalat was today held across all the District Court complexes and several of their subordinate courts wherein various pre and post litigation cases pertaining to different matters were taken.In Srinagar, the National Lok Adalat was organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar under the chairmanship of Principal and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Abdul Rashid Malik at District Court Complex, Moominabad.On the occasion nine benches, which were constituted for taking different types, took up 1941 cases out of which 1613 were amicably settled on the spot.Besides, Rs 92.96 lakhs were awarded as compensation by MACT Srinagar, Rs 6.58 Lakhs were collected as settlement amount by different courts, besides collecting a fine of Rs 2,59,450 on the occasion.In Bandipora District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) organised National Lok Adalat in District Court Complex Bandipora under the chairmanship of Principal District & Session Judge Syed Sarfaraz Hussain Shah.An official spokesperson said a total of 148 cases were taken up in the National Lok Adalat out of which 60 cases were settled amicably and a settlement amount of Rs 25.58 lakh was awarded in various cases. He said the cases taken up in the Adalat were related to MACT, Bank matters, civil and Matrimonial cases.Three separate benches were established in Bandipora while one bench was constituted at Sumbal during the Adalat.The first bench was headed by Principal District & Session Judge Syed Sarfaraz Hussain Shah while the second bench was headed by Chief Judicial Magistrate Bandipora Raja Mohammad Tasleem. 

The third bench was headed by Chairman TLSC Munsiff JMIC Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon while the fourth bench was constituted at Munsiff Court Sumbal presided over by Manzoor Hussain Choudhary, Chairman TLSC Munsiff Sumbal.In Budgam the National Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex Budgam and its subordinate courts today wherein cases pertaining to different matters were taken up including pre-litigation.In the said National Lok Adalat maximum cases were settled amicably and an amount of Rs 2,334,000 was recovered for bank cases and an amount of Rs 91,000 was recovered against electricity bills from consumers.In Anantnag the National Lok Adalat was organised by the District Legal Services Authority Anantnag at District Court Complex Anantnag.Six Benches were constituted for holding of the said National Lok Adalat, all over the district, under the supervision of Principal District & Sessions Judge Anantnag, Syed Tawqeer Ahmad, who is also the Chairman District Legal Services Authority Anantnag.Out of 157 cases, related to recovery suits, MACT, Electricity cases, Civil and Matrimonial cases, taken up in the said National Lok Adalat, a total settlement amount of Rs 99,19,966 was awarded in favour of 66 amicably settled cases.In Shopian the National Lok Adalat was held in the premises of district court complex Shopian under the chairmanship of District Legal Services Authority Shopian Ashok Kumar Shavana Principal District & Session Judge Shopian.

During the proceedings ten benches were constituted for taking up cases of matrimonial act, land acquisition, criminal compound able, electricity bills, bank recovery etc.In the said national Lok Adalat 419 cases of different nature including pre-litigation were taken up, out of which 267 cases were settled by mediation and reconciliation. An amount of Rs 96225 has been recovered as fine and same has been deposited in government treasury. Rs 4851000 were realized from defaulters in bank recovery cases.In Pulwama the National Lok Adalat was held at court premises of District Court Complex Pulwama   under the Chairmanship of Principal and Session Judge Mohammad Ibrahim Chairman District Legal Services Authority Pulwama.During the Lok Adalat, 226 pre and post litigation cases pertaining to criminal compoundable offence, NI Act, electricity bills, water bills Cases under-section 138, Bank Recovery Cases, MACT Cases, Matrimonial Disputes, Labor Disputes and others etc were taken up, out of which 103 cases were settled amicably.In Kargil, the National Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex, Kargil.The Lok Adalat was held under the overall supervision of the Chairman District Legal Services Authority and Principal District & Session Judge Kargil, Sanjiv Kumar Bhagat.During the proceedings of the Lok Adalat, two benches were constituted. The benches were presided over by the Chairman District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Principal District & Session Judge Kargil Sanjiv Kumar Bhagat and Munsiff/Judicial Magistrate Sankoo Muneer Ahmad respectively.The cases listed in the Lok Adalat were of different matters such as pre-litigation, criminal compoundable, matrimonial and other civil disputes and service matters related to pay allowances and retirement benefits etc. Other civil cases were also taken up for the hearing which included rent, injunction suits and specific performance suits etc.

207 cases in total were taken up for hearing, out of which 182 cases were disposed of on the spot. Moreover, a sum of Rs 15,51,725 was awarded to the concerned parties, besides a sum of Rs 23,200 was also recovered as fine.In Kulgam the National Lok Adalat was organised in District court complex Kulgam, under the Chairmanship of District Legal Services Authority Kulgam (Pr. District & sessions Judge). Four benches were constituted, two at head quarter and one each at Qazigund and DH Pora. All the benches were headed by judicial officers, Advocates and staff members.In the National Lok Adalat 305 cases related to Bank recovery, MACT, Labour dispute, family dispute, Municipality, N.l Act Cases u/s 138, Revenue cases were taken up out of which 151 cases were amicably settled and an award of Rs 2196578 was passed in favour of victims in MACT, and other cases.   During the Lok Adalat different cases of electricity bills, water bills etc, were also taken up in the National Lok Adalat and Rs 2196578 imposed as fine in criminal RPC chalan and traffic challans.In Ganderbal, the National Lok Adalat was organised in District court complex Ganderbal under the supervision of Principal District & Sessions Judge Mohammed Yousuf Wani, who is also the Chairman District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal.     Three benches were constituted two at District Court Complex Ganderbal and one at Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kangan.  All the benches were headed by judicial officers, advocates and staff members.In the Lok Adalat, 451 cases related to Bank recovery, MACT, Labour dispute, family dispute, N.l Act Cases u/s 138, Revenue cases and other civil cases were Taken up out of which 224 cases were amicably settled and settlement amount of Rs 45,31,200 was released.

In Baramulla the National Lok Adalats were held today across the District under the chairmanship of Princpal Districts and Session Judge, Baramulla Rajesh Sekhri.The main function was held at district Court Complex Baramulla where three benches were established. 321 cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat at Baramulla comprising of civil, Revenue and other cases were 86 cases were settled amicably on the spot besides Rs 83,05,655 was realized as settlement amount.In Court Complex Sopore the National Lok Adalat was organised by Tehsil Legal Services Committee Sopore which comprised of three different benches. 355 Cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat comprising of civil, Revenue and other cases. 288 cases were settled amicably on the spot besides Rs 52,35,812 was realized as settlement amount.In court complex Uri the National lok Adalat was organized by Tehsil legal services authority Uri, under the chairmanship of Sub-judge Uri Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, who is also the chairman Tehsil legal Services authority.691Cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat comprising of Civil, Revenue and other cases. 590 cases were settled amicably on the spot besides Rs 50,83,823 was realized as settlement amount.
