Creativity is a function of knowledge, curiosity, imagination, and evaluation that leads to innovation. The greater is your knowledge base and level of curiosity, the more potential innovative ideas you can achieve. But simply having knowledge does not guarantee the formation of new ideas or creativity.  One needs to be highly innovative and creative to shape their ideas. This was expressed by Dr. Lalit Kumar Avasthi, Director NIT Jalandhar on the occasion of Science Fest 2018 at Science City.Further he said, my only advise to the students here is that don’t allow your inquisitiveness die down due to fear of asking a silly question in the class, due to inhibitions or due to any other reasons. To enhance innovation and creativity, firstly you need to continually expand your knowledge base, to understand the things happening around you and to work over things to make necessary changes in order to get fruitful outcome. He added Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Neelima Jearth, Director General, Science City said that the Science City is not only becoming popular among the people of Punjab but also has started attracting visitors and students from other states of the country and abroad.

She further added that whenever there is a talk of Science in the region, it is not complete without mention of PGSC. The Science City, Kapurthala is on a fast track to achieve its objective of inculcating scientific temperament among the general masses, particularly among the youth. One of the main objectives of the Science City is to promote innovation and creativity among the school children by providing them an appropriate platform to display their ingenuity and innovative ideas in an informal and playful environment. Science City, Kapurthala provides such a platform by organizing Science where contestants present their Science Projects/Models.Such type of the experimental activities motivate students to follow a path which will lead them to success in their professional life, she added.Dr. Jerath also made a brief mention of the Innovation Hub set up in collaboration with National Council of Science Museums, GoI at the Science City wherein students are motivated towards hands on activities so as to develop their problem solving skills.
