Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Punjab Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa today said that the state government was fully prepared for holding the Panchayat polls before the end of this month.Interacting with the media persons here on sidelines of annual function here at St. Anthony’s High School, the Minister said that the notification for conducting these polls before December 31 has already been issued adding that the state government has already made the required administrative arrangements for these polls.He said that though the program of these elections would be issued by the State Election Commission (SEC) but its part the state government was committed for organizing these elections in a smooth, fair and transparent manner.Later on addressing the gathering, the Minister said that the state government was firmly committed for restoring pristine glory of education sector in the state. He said that the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was laying special thrust on two core sectors of Health and Education adding that strenuous efforts were being made to ensure that Punjab emerges as front runner state in the country in these two sectors. Bajwa said that no stone would be left unturned for accomplishing this noble mission.

Lauding the Christian community for rendering marvelous services in the field of Education, the Minister said that the community was serving the masses especially from weaker and underprivileged sections with true zeal and commitment. Mr. Bajwa said that he was highly grateful to the community for making stupendous efforts to serve the poor and needy adding that the state government would extend fulsome support and cooperation to the community in this noble cause. He said that the firm commitment and dedication of the Christian community inspires every individual to serve the mankind in real sense.Giving a clarion call to the parents, school management and faculty, the Minister asked them to make the students aware of the drug menace, so that they could not fell prey to this curse. He said that the under the dynamic leadership of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Punjab government has already snapped the supply line of drugs. Mr. Bajwa said that the need of hour was to ensure that no fresh youth becomes victim of drugs in the state, for which active support of parents and school management was must.On the occasion Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Navjot Singh Mahal, District Development and Panchayat Officer Mr. Ajay Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Dalbeer Singh, Principal of School Sister Anita, Father Joseph, Mr. Roshan Joseph, Mr. Rajan Chopra, Congress leader Mr. Manoj Arora and others were also present.
