To demonstrate strong anger and resentment against FDI in Retail, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and Khudra FDI Virodhi Rashtriya Morcha, a joint coalition of retail stakeholders is holding a Save Retail Democracy Rally on forthcoming 7th March at Ramlila Ground at New Delhi. The preparations of the rally have been rolled on full swing and trade associations coupled with organisations of other retail stakeholders are leaving no stone unturned in garnering support from all over the Country.

In this context a CAIT delegation today met BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh at New Delhi and presented him a memorandum unleashing the tactics of the Government to make its decision right by wrong facts and figures. The delegation urged Shri Rajnath Singh to raise this issue in the current session of the Parliament. The CAIT delegation was led by its National Secretary General Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, National Secretary Shri Ramesh Khanna and Delhi State General Secretary Shri Vijay Pal beside other trade leaders.

Shri Khandelwal informed that Shri Rajnath Singh has accepted our invitation to join the rally on 7th March. NDA Convener and Janta Dal (U) President Shri Sharad Yadav has already consented to join the Rally. The CAIT delegation will soon meet senior leaders of left front including Shri Prakash Karat, Shri Sita Ram Yechury, Shri A B Bardhan, Shri Gurudas Das Gupta and leaders of other political parties soon to invite them to join the rally. He said that the CAIT platform will be a place where leaders of different political ideology will join hands together to stoutly oppose FDI in Rally. The future strategy of the agitation will be declared at the rally-said Khandelwal.
