Industries and Technical Education Minister Bikram Singh Thakur presided over a review meeting of Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial  Training Department here today. He directed the concerned officers to materialise the projects and schemes of the State government as well as Centre  government well in time so as to benefit the various sections of the society and youth in particular.Minister said that technical education had been  accorded highest priority by the government in the State. The ratio of technical students absorbed in the various industries was much higher as  compare to other professions in the State due to high demand of skilled personnel and available workforce. Students enrolling in the different technical  institutions like Engineering Colleges, Polytechnics Colleges, B. Pharmacy Colleges and Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) were being provided with best  education to empower them and make them viable to attain employment as per the need of industrial houses.

Bikram Singh Thakur said that the teachers should take extra care of the study needed to excel as per the demand in the industries. Students should be  benefited with the vast experience of faculty. Placements of the students should be given higher priority as it was the result of the education given in  the institute. Institutes with excellent results will be appreciated. He urged Heads of the various institutions to come up with new ideas and asked them  to work hard for the implementation of the same.He said that various issues regarding the infrastructure for the ITIs, required fund for machinery and equipments, forest clearance, required faculty etc.  will be considered with priority. Workshops should be organised regularly for the teachers and department officials. Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas  Nigam (HPKVN), Directorate of Industries and ADB were working in collaboration to provide best technical education, he added.ACS Technical Education Manoj Kumar, Director Technical Education Shubhkaran Singh, heads of various Engineering Colleges, Polytechnics  Colleges, B. Pharmacy Colleges, Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) and departmental officials participated in the meeting.
