Himachal Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh today flagged off ‘Save Water-Save Earth’ Cycle Rally-2013 organized by Jamia Millia Islamia, a premium Central University of the Country, from his official residence Oak Over, Shimla.Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that the motto of the rally Save Water-Save Earth was not only important to the State and Nation but the entire world. He congratulated the participants for this cycle rally.  Jamia Millia has organized this 12 days cycle rally from Narkanda in Himachal Pradesh to Delhi in association of NSS, NCC, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI and Department of Youth Services and Sports of Himachal Pradesh.

A group of 26 students (20 boys and 6 girls) and 13 staff members with two Doctors in the rally would cover a distance of approx 452 kms and would pass through the States of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. The objective of the rally was to generate awareness about the preservation of our environment and to provide opportunity to students to face various challenges, develop character and personality alongwith understanding flora and fauna of different regions.

Shri Kuldeep Kumar, Shri Rohit Thakur, Shri Nand Lal and Shri Anirudh Singh all MLAs, Shri Harsh Mahajan, Vice Chairman, State Cooperative Bank, Shri Kewal Singh Pathania, Vice-Chairman, HRTC, Shri V.C. Pharka, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and YSS, Shri Kamal Sharma, Special Secretary to Chief Minister and Director YSS, Mr. Badarual Islam, PCCF (Wild Life), Smt. Suman Rawat, Joint Director, YSS, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
