State Vigilance Bureau today arrested Junior Engineer (JE) of PSPCL for taking bribe.Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said JE Jagtar Singh posted at PSPCL sub-division Malerkotla was arrested on the complaint of Mangaljeet Singh of Village Sangali in Sangrur district.The complaint has approached the VB and alleged that the above said JE was demanding Rs. 5,000 to replace a non-working electricity transformer in his village. It may be mentioned here that the accused JE had already taken Rs. 2000 as a first installment.After verifying his information, a Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused JE arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 3,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Patiala and  further investigation was under progress.
